We met Faye when she called about assisting her with the sale of an inherited piece of property in another state. She had never been to the property (it was in Hawaii!). She knew she would never use the property and was tired of paying taxes on it.
This land was in a partially developed HOA, where there was still dirt roads and no clear markers to distinguish one lot from the next. She knew she couldn't sell it on her own and didn't want to pay the high price of a real estate commission. She didn't even know where to start evaluating a fair price.
We were able to clarify ownership, and then helped Faye understand not only the property value, but the costs involved in holding or selling. We were able to give her cash for her land (that she had never even seen!). It took away a tremendous burden for Faye.
